Relocating to New York, NY · No visa sponsorship requiredDaler KhamzaevSenior Mobile Engineer · Android & iOSSenior mobile engineer with 8+ years of experience. I specialize in both Android and iOS: I write Kotlin (Jetpack Compose) and Swift (SwiftUI) and build the shared logic for both platforms with Kotlin Multiplatform. I actively use AI coding agents in my workflow, which helps me ship faster and work more efficiently. At ONIGO, I work across the full stack — Android, iOS, web (Svelte) and a Rust backend — and built the company's Criteo retail media channel end to end as the sole engineer. Previously, I led the migration of the entire Webinar (MTS Link) app to Jetpack Compose and built the Leroy Merlin driver app at Luxoft. Prize winner in both rounds of Telegram's 2021 Android developer contest, building new features for the official Telegram app, including message reactions. I'm relocating to New York on a marriage-based green card — my wife is a U.S. citizen — so I don't need employer visa sponsorship. Relocation assistance is a plus.

I work across the whole stack: Rust backend, Svelte web, Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift). My biggest project is the Criteo retail media integration into our product, which I built end to end as the sole engineer.
  • Built the company's retail media channel end to end as the sole engineer: integrated Criteo sponsored products into search and category pages across web, iOS and Android, with a Rust backend for the catalog feed, ad delivery and purchase attribution. Now in production.
  • Designed for reliability: purchase events go through a background job with retries so checkout never depends on a third-party API; the public catalog feed is cached and rate-limited. Worked directly with Criteo through their integration QA.
  • Led the redesign of the internal operations admin from a design handoff: 5 core screens, ~13k lines, dark mode and localization, shipped as an opt-in beta alongside the legacy tool with role permissions unchanged.
  • Delivered features end to end across Kotlin (Android), Swift (iOS), Svelte (web) and Rust (backend): free delivery, subscription pricing, alcohol-sale compliance and LINE login — one engineer instead of a separate team per platform.

Remote role on the Android app of MTS Link, a platform for online meetings and webinars.
  • Led the migration of the entire app from legacy Android Views to Jetpack Compose and rebuilt its UI/UX in a Slack-like style.
  • Built Compose navigation and key features: mentions, media handling and text editing.
  • Reviewed code across the Android team, raising code quality and consistency.

Delivery driver app for Leroy Merlin, a major home improvement retailer. Stack: Kotlin, Coroutines, Jetpack Compose, ObjectBox, Retrofit2.
  • Built the entire UI in Jetpack Compose as part of a full app rewrite, including maps and delivery routes.
  • Refactored the app's architecture and view models, improving UI/UX and overall performance.
  • Introduced a local database with ObjectBox, which sped up the app and reduced its memory usage.

I built an app that controls robots over Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, entirely from scratch. Tech stack: Java, RxJava, hand-written database queries with SQLiteOpenHelper, Koin and MVVM. I also used sockets for network scanning and built custom components extending View.

Projects
Kazoku
KazokuA private messenger for closed groups that I built entirely on my own: a Ktor backend and Kotlin Multiplatform clients for Android (Jetpack Compose), iOS and macOS (SwiftUI). It has chats and groups, reactions, voice messages, voice and video calls over WebRTC, push notifications and a web admin panel, and all message content is encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM. The server and the shared client logic are covered by unit and integration tests.

Menumiru
MenumiruAndroid and iOS apps for Menumiru, an AI food assistant for travelers in Japan: scan and translate any menu, find restaurants, explore regional dishes and ask an AI chat about allergens, ingredients or pairings. I built both apps with Kotlin Multiplatform: all logic, networking and MVI view models live in shared code, while the native UIs in Jetpack Compose and SwiftUI stay thin and match each other screen for screen.

My TVcard
My TVcardMy largest side project, with 200K+ users on Android and iOS. I built both apps from scratch with Kotlin Multiplatform: all business logic and backend communication live in shared code, and the native clients are as thin as possible. Now I only maintain it, since Telekarta has no other developers.

In Search of Truth: Match 3
In Search of Truth: Match 3A match-three game I built with an artist friend: players match climbing gear to lift their character up a mountain, with timed events, boosters and a shop of skins. One Kotlin + libGDX codebase runs on Android, iOS (RoboVM) and desktop in four languages. I also wrote its Ktor backend: Google and Apple sign-in, progress sync across devices, purchases verified with Google Play and the App Store, game stats and an admin panel.
